The recovery operation for the bodies of seven people killed in Saturday's helicopter crash high on Fox Glacier may be impacted by more bad weather.
Heavy rain is forecast for the west coast of the South Island from today.
Three bodies were recovered from the crash site yesterday, before bad weather halted the operation for the day.
Weather commentator Richard Green said the area is going to be saturated for most of the week
"Because the norwester gets all that moisture picking it up off the Tasman sea, throwing it on to the West Coast pushing it across the alps as well which isn't ideal obviously for the situation."
Fox Glacier tourism operators are taking it day by day as a no fly zone remains in place after Saturday's fatal helicopter accident.
Seven people were killed in the crash.
The pilot was 28-year-old Mitch Gameren of Queenstown.
The others were overseas tourists, four from the UK and two from South Australia.
Glacier Country Tourism Group chairperson Rob Jewell said a few people have cancelled their trips to the area
"Not very many I guess - people really understand that unfortunately it's been a very tragic accident."
