Police teams are satisfied there is no longer any bomb threat to Manawatu Prison.
The bomb squad descended on the prison after a threatening phone call was made from an outside line just before 8.30 this morning.
That prompted the lockdown of the prison as Police and Defence Force teams investigated.
A police spokesman said cordons have been lifted with no bomb found.
