An 11 month old girl is in a critical condition after being run over by a small truck in a driveway in Paeroa.

Emergency services were called to Bush Road at 2:30 this afternoon.

Inspector Tony Wakelin says the driver of the truck didn't live at the house.

He says the Police Serious Crash Unit is speaking with the driver and investigating the circumstances of the incident.

The child has been airlifted to Waikato Hospital.

Victim Support has been offered to the girl's family and the truck driver.
