Investigators are looking into the second Westport house fire in less than a week.
It gutted a Brougham Street house early this morning.
Westport deputy chief fire officer Trevor O'Dea said they were called to the burning house at 1 this morning.
Although initial reports had indicated people were in the house, everyone was outside the building and accounted for by the time firefighters arrived.
The house was extensively damaged and the building is uninhabitable, with the roof completely destroyed.
Last Sunday, an unoccupied property was destroyed in a fire which is under investigation.
