A Turangi man has admitted wounding two police officers, leaving them with deep lacerations to their hands.

Owen Becroft pleaded guilty to two charges of wounding with intent in the Rotorua District Court this morning.

Two officers needed stitches to their hands after they were stabbed by the 50-year-old last month.

Becroft has been remanded in custody to reappear for sentencing on December 11.
