Updated 6:55am: A man in his 20s is in custody after a pizza delivery man was robbed at gunpoint in Tauranga overnight.
He took 23 dollars worth of pizza to a house in Parkvale where it had been ordered by phone - but was met by an armed man who demanded he hand over the order - which he did before fleeing.
Police Inspector Andy Brill says it might seem to be a minor crime, but the fact a few dollars worth of pizza was taken isn't the point for a worker going about his business.
"Well he feared for his life and was very shocked and disturbed by the whole thing so although it seems slightly trivial, it's certainly not from his point of view."
Tauranga's armed offenders squad was called out and an arrest made about 11pm.
