A Porirua teacher who groomed one of her young students to have sex with her has been struck off the teachers' register.
Stacey Reriti was jailed for 10-and-a-half years last month after being found guilty of seven sex abuse charges against a boy aged between 11 and 13.
Education Council conduct manager Andrew Greig says they sped up the process of removing Rereti.
He says parents need assurance people like her will never again be near children in an education setting.
Another former teacher, Raymond Melrose, has also been struck off, after he was convicted of indecent offences against an underaged boy.
