A second girl, whose sexual abuse allegations led to the arrest of a prominent New Zealander, described his acts as “sneaky”.

The defendant, whose name is suppressed, is on trial before the High Court in Whangarei charged with 12 counts of doing an indecent act against two girls

The girls’ names and ages are suppressed, as is the location of the alleged offending.

The charges, which include allegations of touching the complainants on the breast, buttocks, groin and thigh, are punishable by up to 10 years' imprisonment.

This morning, a police video interview with the older girl from 2014 was played for the jury in which she described massages turning into molestation.

The teenager said foot rubs lasting up to 20 minutes would gradually become “massages up on my thighs and everything”.

When interrupted he would quickly put his hands back on her feet, she said.

There were other times when the well-known defendant would allegedly put the girl’s foot on his penis while the massages were taking place.

“I’ll try to move it but he’ll hold it there,” she said.

“I’m uncomfortable when he does it but sometimes he forces me into getting a foot massage.”

The teen told the court there were sometimes other people around when the alleged groping took place.

“He does it sneaky so [no one] notices what he’s doing,” she said.

She told police the incidents made her feel scared “like he might come on to me or something”.

Yesterday the younger complainant told the court about similar instances where the man allegedly molested her under the pretence of a massage.

“I asked for a back massage and then started rubbing down by my bum and I felt like scared because I didn’t ask him to rub down there,” she said.

On one occasion the man allegedly approached her from behind and pressed himself against her.

“I felt uncomfortable because he put his balls and all that against my bum,” the complainant said.

She told the police in a video interview she was scared she would be raped.

Defence lawyer Arthur Fairley later produced a string of photos which he suggested showed the pair allegedly looking “very comfortable together”; one picturing the girl on his back.

The girl explained the defendant would have asked her to jump on but Mr Fairley said she was lying.

“You voluntarily got on his back. How do you say this man’s been sexually abusing you?” he said.

“You jumped on his back because there was no sexual abuse,” the lawyer said.

The girl stood by her accusations.

The trial before Justice Venning and a jury of six men and five women is expected to run until next week.
