The Taranaki man accused of killing his son, has admitted spending his money.
Today during the trial of David Roigard for the murder of his son Aaron, the New Plymouth jury is being shown an interview between David Roigard and Police just after Aaron disappeared.
During the interview David Roigard says his 27-year-old son had begun giving him money to pay off a car loan.
Roigard says his son continued to pay him money well after the car was paid off and he could stop anytime.
He told police Aaron knew he was spending the money.
The Crown alleges David Roigard murdered Aaron when he could no longer conceal he was stealing the money.
