Police have released the name of the young woman killed in a crash in Central Dunedin, yesterday morning.

She was 18-year-old Nakita Strange from Invercargill.

Police say the vehicle she was in was also involved in a petrol theft in North Dunedin, before the crash occurred.

Two other passengers from the car remain in hospital, one with minor upper body injuries, who is expected to be released in the coming days, while another is expected to receive further treatment.
