An office worker has today admitted stealing $133,000 from a Christchurch company involved in the city's rebuild over a two-year period.

The administrator and receptionist, who has interim name suppression, handled large amounts of cash at the firm.

But between November 2012 and January 2015, on multiple occasions, she stole thousands of dollars at a time, and put it into her own bank account.

She had originally denied the charges and was heading to trial later this month.

However, at Christchurch District Court today she admitted three representative charges.

Judge Raoul Neave remanded her on bail to be sentenced on May 10 where it's expected that the interim name suppression will be argued fully.
