The killer of North Shore teenager Christie Marceau has been committed to a psychiatric facility, possibly for the rest of his life.
Akshay Anand Chand will finish his three year prison sentence next month, but the Parole Board has ruled he continue to live at the Mason Clinic as a special patient, where he's been serving his sentence.
Chand was on bail when he forced his way in to the Marceau Family home and stabbed 18-year-old Christie repeatedly.
He was found not guilty of murder by reason of insanity, but served a three year sentence for kidnapping and threatening to kill her.
The Parole Board has also ruled Chand's to have no contact with the Marceau family.
He will stay at the facility until the Director of Mental Health deems it safe to release him.
