The Christchurch man who tried to enter the Linwood WINZ office with a gun has been sentenced to two years and eight months behind bars.
Mitchell Shane Moulton appeared in front of Judge Paul Kellar for sentencing at the Christchurch District court this morning.
He was charged with threatening to kill, discharging a firearm, driving whilst suspended, possessing a firearm and possession of cannabis.
Judge Kellar told the court the offending has had a significant effect on the WINZ office’s security staff member.
The incident came just a month after the one year anniversary of the Ashburton Work and Income shooting.
