A Canterbury man involved in a road rage attack that involved killing a puppy and putting a man in hospital, has been given eight months home detention.
Andrew McDaniel previously pleaded guilty to repeatedly running over a man who was out with his children near the Eyre River in March.
The man suffered injuries to his ankle, back and shoulder the family’s puppy had to be put down.
McDaniel's since been under psychiatric assessment in Hillmorton Hospital, where his lawyer says he's made huge improvements.
Judge Jane Faris told him the children involved were still frightened and suffering nightmares, but she doesn't see him as a future risk.
He's also disqualified from driving for 12 months.
