A Christchurch man has admitted defrauding the Selwyn District Council out of about $300,000.
Stephen Rolf Gubb fraudulently obtained the money when he and a co-defendant charged the district council commission for the sale of its land, the Serious Fraud Office alleges.
This included obtaining 13 commission payments between March 2007 and July 2015.
Gubb has now pleaded guilty to 14 charges of obtaining by deception after also admitting to creating a false invoice for $10,500.
He will appear at the Christchurch District Court on May 16 for sentencing.
Employed by Hughes Developments as a property consultant, he sold land, leases, and design and build packages for a Selwyn District Council business hub development called Izone.
