A Christchurch man accused of stealing from rest home residents has been arrested and charged.
The 42-year-old was picked up by police after a series of rest home burglaries in recent months.
He is due in Christchurch District Court on Thursday.
Constable Gina Farmer says it was particularly important for rest home staff and residents to be aware of suspicious or unknown people because their residences were a burglary target.
"Please keep items of monetary or sentimental value secure as thieves are opportunistic and will target these items," she said.
