Child killer Elizabeth Healy has been granted parole, but special release conditions mean she will never be alone with anyone under 16, for the rest of her life.

Healy was convicted of killing 17-month-old Christchurch child Shae Hammond and poisoning another child while babysitting in January 1997.

She was previously released in March 2014, but was recalled eight months later when her behaviour became abysmal.

Her latest parole decision, released today, said Healy is in a much stronger position to cope with release than last time.

To reflect the concerns of her victim's mother, she will never be able to associate with young people, or enter Christchurch without prior permission from her parole officer.
