A jury has retired to deliberate verdicts in the case against a man accused of using pliers to pull out womens' teeth.
Philip Hansen faces 10 charges in the Wellington District Court, including wounding, rape and indecent assault.
It's alleged he offended against four different women between 1988 and 2011.
In one case, a victim claims he used pliers to pull six bottom teeth from her mouth, and later tried to extract her wisdom teeth with a screwdriver.
The name of all four complainants is suppressed, as is their relationship to the accused.
Hansen's lawyer, Mike Antunovic, claims the women all consented to what was happening at the time.
He says they're only raising the matter now because of a bitterness they harbour towards him.
In summing up, Judge Bruce Davidson told the jury they had to consider the likelihood of four women colluding against Hansen to make the charges up.
Mike Antunovic claims the women have all ganged up on his client.
Crown lawyer Sally Carter claims they didn't consent, but didn't speak up because he was controlling and intimidating.
