UPDATED 11.16am: Police are hunting two men in the Bay of Plenty after an attack which put another man in hospital with an iron bar in his head.

It happened at around midnight in Katikati, when the victim was sitting in his car.

A woman and two men approached him, and he was punched and hit with the iron bar.

The attacker is described as being in his early 20s with an olive complexion and a slim build.

He was in his early 20s with short black spiky hair and wearing a dark green coloured t-shirt.

The other man was a Caucasian in his 20s.

Police want to hear from anyone who was in or around Clive Road and might have seen the incident, or anyone who knew the identity of the person responsible for the assault.
