The man who racially abused two foreigners on a Hutt Valley bus has been fined $500.

Footage of Moses Tupaea's expletive-laden tirade went viral in March, as he told the two men to go back to their own country.

He's also been sentenced to 120 hours community work in the Hutt Valley District Court, having pleaded guilty to charges of offensive behaviour and using threatening language.
