The driver in a car crash that killed a Napier kindergarten teacher will continue giving evidence today at a Coroner's hearing.
An inquest is being held at the Hastings District Court into the death of Pam McGarva.
She died ten days after Lyree Sayers crashed into her on Prebensen Drive in Napier in 2014.
Sayers was found not guilty of manslaughter by a jury last December, after police alleged she purposely swerved into Ms McGarva to try to kill herself.
Lyree Sayers told Coroner Tim Scott yesterday that she joked about suicide with her brother because they had a strange sense of humour
She also said she once joked about committing suicide to a shop assistant at a hardware store.
"I recall going there and asking for a nail gun, and he asked what for, and I said, to put in my head."
"Why did you do that," Sayers was asked.
"To amuse myself."
Sayers initially told Mr Walker that she'd never had suicidal thoughts prior to the crash.
"You're answer earlier that no, you haven't had suicidal thoughts is not true is it," asked Walker.
"I guess not," said Sayers.
