The crown is expected to wrap up its case in the trial of double murder accused Russell John Tully today.
The crown was optimistic about completing its case yesterday, but six witnesses will spill over into this morning.
MORE: Firearms, DNA and handwriting experts heard in Tully case
Yesterday the High Court jury heard the scientific and DNA evidence that the crown says links Tully to the shooting at the Ashburton Work and Income shooting in September 2014.
The Crown plans to rest its case today leaving it to Tully to call evidence.
But it’s not known whether the 49 year-old, who’s representing himself with the help of two friends, intends to call any evidence.
If he doesn’t wish to do so the trial will likely be adjourned, with closing arguments to begin on Monday.
