A Hutt City councillor is fed up with trouble in her native Stokes Valley, and wants police to help do something about it.
Two robberies, a hit and run and complaints about youths loitering around shops have painted the suburb in a bad light over the past week.
Gwen McDonald says bad behaviour mostly happens when bad families move from out of town to be near their loved ones in prison.
She said a police response team helped out in Naenae a few years ago, and she wants them in her neighbourhood.
"They played netball and doing things with the kids around the Center, and they were there at night, and just patrolled the areas."
"They just kept an eye on the place, that's what we need."
