A caregiver has been sentenced to home detention after stealing rings and money from her elderly clients.
Sarah Hill pleaded guilty to five charges at the Marton District Court.
Judge David Cameron said the 31 year-old acted disgracefully when she took valuables worth at least $14,000, between March and July this year.
She stole from the bedrooms of people she was working for as an in-home personal carer, and then sold their jewellery to second-hand dealers.
In one case she took nine gold rings and a silver ring from the same home.
She also took $330 from another client's wallet.
