A man in his mid-20s is likely to be facing charges after losing control of his car, and smashing through the front doors of a supermarket.

The man was driving along New North Road in Auckland, when he failed to stop and crashed into the front doors of Pak 'n' Save just before midnight.

Police say it suggests speed was a factor in the crash...though it's unclear what the road conditions were like at the time.

The 25-year-old driver received moderate injuries but did not require hospitalisation.
