A 14-year-old girl has been arrested over the armed robbery of a Rotorua service station.

Police say an offender, armed with a weapon, walked into the Caltex on Amohau St and demanded cash from the sole attendant about 9pm on Friday.

A person fitting the description of the Caltex offender threatened staff at a Rotorua liquor store last night.

The teen left the liquor store empty-handed and was arrested nearby a short time later.

The14-year-old will appear in the Youth Court today.
