Most people are supportive of changes to a busy Christchurch road to ease congestion issues.
Over 220 submissions have been received on a plan to introduce priority traffic lights, more bus lanes, and change parking along Riccarton Road.
The route's been plagued with congestion issues since the earthquakes.
Assets and Networks Unit Manager Chris Gregory asserts it's been a great response from the public.
"In the initial look through a lot of the responses are positive that in fact the council are moving to solve the issues on Riccarton Road."
Phil Clearwater, who heads up the Infrastructure Committee, adds they need to make sure they get the right plan in place.
"I've got no doubt of that and that's the really good thing about consultation. Criticism is sometimes that 'why don't we just go ahead and do it?' However it's important to get it right and listen to the people."
