Police investigations are continuing into a fatal crash involving two cars and a truck on Christchurch's Gardeners Road yesterday afternoon.

The driver of one of the cars died at the scene.

The road was closed for several hours following the crash, which happened around 4.45pm.

The truck driver was uninjured, while the driver of the second car was taken to Christchurch Hospital with moderate injuries.

No further details will be released until next of kin have been notified and formal identification completed.
