Restaurant Brands has added more burger outlets to its stable.

It's bought the seven Carl's Jr stores it wasn't operating.

It's paid $10.5 million for the burger outlets.

Those stores have so far been run by Forsgren - the original franchisee when the chain launched in New Zealand in 2011.

Restaurant Brands took over the master franchise last year.

The NZX-listed company also operates the KFC, Pizza Hut and Starbucks chains in New Zealand.
