More New Zealand businesses have agreed to end ‘opt out’ pricing.

House of Travel and Nakedbus have stopped the use of additional ‘opt out’ charges when selling tickets to customers online.

Air New Zealand was the first company to change as a result of the Commerce Commission investigating its practice of ‘opt out’ selling for travel insurance.

Commission chair Dr Mark Berry says they've had discussions with each business and they've made independent decisions to change what they do.

"It is great news for consumers, we were concerned that consumers were being mislead into opting into matters when they hadn't actually made the affirmative decision to buy it."

Jetstar is still refusing to stop 'opt out' pricing.
