It's no surprise a Christchurch gardening store that's flouted Easter trading laws for more than 20 years again will do so again this year - and it's renewing its calls for the government to pull finger.
The government is proposing to enable local communities, through councils, to decide whether retailers can open on Easter Sunday.
Oderings nurseries retail manager Darryn Odering has accused them of passing the buck.
"I think the government should show some leadership and get on with what they need to do. It's a crazy law."
Mr Odering said of the 26 years he's flouted the law, the nursery has only been penalised for 14 of them.
