More than 1000 homes in Titirangi, west Auckland, are without power after a stormy afternoon in the city

There are also outages in Epsom, Muriwai, and Te Atatu

Heavy rains and strong winds have battered the city, bringing trees down.

Vector spokeswoman Sandy Hodge said a tree had come down on a line on Konini Road in Titirangi.

She said crews are on scene working to restore the damage.

There's no word yet on when power will be restored.
