It's only four years old - but already Eden Park's redeveloped South Stand has been attacked by a rust problem.

Workers have spent months treating rust that has appeared on the structure that supports the stand's sound shell.

The cost of the repairs is estimated to be in the tens of thousands of dollars - though it will be covered by the stadium's warranty.

Nevertheless Eden Park chief executive David Kennedy says the remedial work is only minor and is not affecting anything of structural importance.
