A review is officially underway into Auckland's water services, in the wake of the current shortage and recent floods.
Councillors have voted for a review of Watercare and stormwater services, ahead of a wide-ranging review of other council organisations.
It'll investigate whether the council water company and stormwater department are spending money appropriately.
Manurewa-Papakura councillor Daniel Newman said the review is more urgent than any other.
"I think that we need to be sending a clear signal here as to what it is that we're doing, and what it is that we wont be doing right now."
Aucklanders are still being asked to conserve water, because of the ongoing shortage.
