First Union says they've made significant progress in talks .
Spokesman Graham McKean says they will be meeting again today to see if they can resolve the last of the outstanding issues.
"We have had some movement from both sides, there's been an element of compromise. So as a token of good faith, the unions have decided to withdraw the notice and focus on the bargaining."
However, the planned strike by around 60 drivers at Pavlovich Coachlines in Mt Roskill will still go ahead between 7 and 9 this morning.
It will affect 34 trips mainly in West Auckland and the city .
