Fifty-four homes are in the path of a new four lane highway planned to link Manukau with Flat Bush and Alfriston.
Auckland Transport says the road's needed to service thousands of new homes coming in eastern Manukau.
It's lodged notification of the route - and Auckland Council is expected to call for public submissions on the proposal early next year.
