A truck carrying a crane has crashed into a house in an industrial suburb in Auckland.

Emergency services are responding to the crash at the intersection of Waipuna and Carbine Rds, Mt Wellington.

Three injured people were being assessed at the scene, a St John Ambulance spokeswoman said.

One person was in a moderate condition and two were in a minor condition.

A witness told the Herald, “the cab’s pretty much inside the house”.

”I think he’s come straight through the intersection,” he said.

Police have closed Waipuna Rd between Ireland Rd and Convamore Ln and a spokeswoman said the roadblock was likely to remain “for some time”.

Firefighters rescued two people from the crash.

One person was trapped in the truck and another was trapped in the house, a Fire and Emergency NZ spokesman said.

Three fire trucks and a support vehicle were sent to the scene about 12.26pm, the spokesman said.

A spokeswoman for police said they were called to the scene about 12.30pm.

“There are no reports of injuries,” she said.

St John Ambulance has been approached for comment.
