It's the last night for Aucklanders to catch a glimpse of the Chinese lantern display while enjoying some delicious fare and cultural entertainment in Albert Park. Â
The lantern collection hosts a number of elaborate lanterns, including a five-metre long great wall of China replica complete with a camel and a lantern seller with small children.
Asia New Zealand Foundation's director of culture and one of the event organisers, Jennifer King, says it's a fun way for Aucklanders to ring in the Chinese New Year.
"Everyone who comes through we see what a great time they're having, but it's just been amazing so we're very lucky."
Jennifer King says the sunny weather has given the festival a rather laid-back feel - even with the huge crowds.
"It's actually been really pleasant and buzzy, I've really enjoyed it."
The festival finale features a fireworks display at 10:30 this evening.
Event organisers say this means people should be able to get a glimpse of the display from many vantage points in the city.
