A study on the future of Auckland's ports could cost more than $1 million and take a year to complete.
Auckland Council's development committee is hearing draft outlines on a study looking at the port's future, following protests over the possible expansion at Bledisloe Wharf.
The study would hand responsibility to stakeholders and the public, but it could come at an estimated cost of up to
$1.14 million .
The money could be coming out of the mayoral budget but is unlikely to be completed until June or July next year.
