An 18-year-old woman has been charged with murder after a man died in Mt Eden early this morning.
Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Armstrong said the body of a 21-year-old man was found at a Dominion Rd address after police were called at 2.25am this morning.
The woman is being held in custody and will appear in Auckland District Court on Monday. Police were not seeking anyone else in relation to the incident.
The man's body was found inside a block of six rundown flats, which were owned by Housing New Zealand.
One police officer was guarding the property today while a scene examination took place. Four more police officers were working at the address.
A neighbour said police had been called to the flats several times in recent months.
Three weeks ago, police had raided the property, in what he believed was a drugs-related incident.
Another neighbour said a couple in the block of flats had recently been having loud, "screaming" arguments, though it had been quiet last night.
The incident took place one street away from where Shannon Baker was found dead in his house in December. Police have charged two men with his murder.
