Auckland musician Mitch James finished school at 17 and got a job cleaning cars - his goal was to make enough money to buy a one-way ticket to London.
He arrived there with nothing but a 20-pound note, and went to work playing open-mic nights in ope of picking up paid gigs. In the two years he was there, James played 230 gigs and busked over 100 times.
James was then signed by Sony Music after singer-songwriter MAALA discovered cover videos he'd put on YouTube.
He's now back in New Zealand, and joined Mike Hosking in studio this morning to perform his new single, Move On.
