Associate Education Minister David Seymour is standing by his new school lunch programme despite concerns it won't deliver the same results. Â
He says the re-vamped scheme will save $107 million a year.Â
Seymour says the Government can reduce costs by bulk buying items and serving simple items like sandwiches and fruit. Â
He told Mike Hosking that the programme will put the same sorts of items in front of kids that are put in front of 75% of other students who aren't eligible for the scheme. Â
Seymour says the idea that that's somehow neglectful is frankly offensive to all those other parents and students.Â
