A call for the Government to allow kindergartens, based primarily outdoors.

Christchurch educator Celia Hogan is petitioning Education Minister Chris Hipkins to allow a new type of licence for nature-based centres.

She told Mike Hosking many parents want an alternative to programmes based mostly indoors.

"It comes from concerns of overuse of technology, even a loss of wild spaces, we are just wrapping our kids in cotton wool."
