A reform package for the justice system is expected early next year but a repeal of the three strikes law is unlikely to be part of that.
The Government's Criminal Justice Summit has just wrapped up, with some saying there wasn't enough emphasis on the victims of crime.
Justice Minister Andrew Little told Mike Hosking hundreds of ideas have come forward.
He says the Justice Advisory Group will have smaller regional meetings, gather up those ideas and officials will put a package together.
"NZ First has made it clear they don't support the repeal of three strikes at the moment, so there's plenty of other stuff to do that can make a positive difference, so I'm just going to focus on those things."
Little says the resulting law changes to the justice system will be made next year.
