The Racing Integrity Unit thinks the case of a prominent greyhound owner who asked his trainer to dope his dogs is a one-off.

Greyhound Racing Board central region representative David Scott has been banned from dog racing for 11 years and given a $10,000 fine, after pleading guilty to corruption and drugs charges.

He was dobbed in by his trainer who never actually gave the drugs to the dogs and eventually reported it.

Racing Integrity Unit Investigation manager Neil Grimstone told Mike Hosking it shows the unit will get to the bottom of this sort of activity.

"I think by and large it's a pretty good industry, and it's a lot of good people working hard to make a living in what's quite a tough game."
