Tony Rigg is an ex-Department of Labour inspector, paramedic, fireman, and has been in the health and safety game for the past 18-odd years in various high risk industires.

He wrote Leighton an email, with the subject line, 'The science of being stupid: Common sense vs health and safety act vs bureacrats'.

Rigg joined the programme to share his thoughts on common sense around safety, as well as the Pike River tragedy, the Kaikoura earthquake, and more.
