The Chilean government says the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement will be formally signed in New Zealand next month.
Andres Rebolledo, a Chilean government spokesperson, says the deal will be formally signed on February 4th.
However, no official date has been set by the countries involved in the agreement and it still needs to be ratified by each member nation's parliament.
Opponent of the TPPA Jane Kelsey says "the US holds the key to the fate of the TPPA" and that it may struggle to pass through Congress.
She says a number of protests are planned in the lead up to the signing.
