
Labour's universal basic income plan is being blasted as mad by the Prime Minister. Â
The Labour Party is considering adopting the policy, which would give all adult New Zealanders at least 200 dollars a week.
It says it's something New Zealand needs to consider as the nature of employment changes. Â
But Prime Minister John Key said he's looked into the numbers and it's "unaffordable and it's barking mad".Â
"Basically it would cost $38 billion dollars, it might cost 76 billion."Â
