The Government's dismissing an attack from Labour Party Leader Andrew Little on its economic credibility.
In a pre-Budget speech, Mr Little accused the Government of failing to address imbalances in the economy and political deception in failing to reach a Budget surplus.
But Deputy Prime Minister Bill English says the Government has a plan that's working citing job and wage figures, along with low interest rates.
"Oh look, it'll look like politics from the lead of the Opposition trying to get some attention.
"He needs to get out and about in the economy, because the basis of growth is pretty broad."
