Eleven people were arrested and four people taken to hospital, but organisers of Christchurch's cup day at Addington are describing it as nothing short of perfect.

Around 22-thousand people were at the event.

Those taken to hospital included a person with a broken foot, another with a head injury, and two had medical issues.

A spokesperson said they dealt with a large number of requests for paracetamol and sunblock.
